The DBT STAR COLLEGE SCHEME was launched in the year 2008 by the Department of Bio-Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India for Strengthening of Science Education and Training at Undergraduate Level across the country. This scheme aims at improving critical and innovative thinking and to improve and inculcate 'hands-on' experimental work with approaches towards technology development needed at the undergraduate level in sciences. This scheme encourages more students to take up higher education in science, support for developing infrastructure for academics and laboratory activities and stimulates teaching and provide exposure to experimental science.
