About the Department

The Tamil Department was eastablished in 1975 and the Undergraduate Programme was started in 2013-2014.The Department motivates the students to participate in various competitions at state level to win cash awards and also to particpate in All India Radio programmes at Karaikal.The Department Meetings and competitions are conducted through Tamil Association and Bharathi Tamil Sangam.The Department is having collaboration with Tamilaiyya Kalvikalagam, Thiruvaiyaru and publishes a magazine named 'Tamilosai Ithal'. The Staff members actively particpate in Seminars and Conferences at National and International level and they have won many special awards for their outstanding contributions in various aspects.
